My philosophy

As women, we live a full life and face a series of hormonally driven changes. These changes are most apparent during puberty, pregnancy, the postpartum period and also peri-menopause (or the years surrounding menopause). While there is a lot of support for the pubescent and pregnant woman, the perimenopausal woman is often left to face this chapter of life alone.

Symptoms of perimenopause can start as early as the late 30's and last up to a decade. These symptoms can disrupt daily routines affecting work, family and intimacy. It is my mission to empower women to embrace the changes, minimize elevated health risks, and manage symptoms that accompany perimenopause through balanced and functional nutrition and lifestyle modifications so their inner light may continue to shine throughout all aspects of their lives.

I employ a number of client-centered, evidence-based techniques to assess each individual client's needs and walk with them toward achieving better health. And because we are not in it alone, I help women determine and achieve sustainable dietary practices for themselves and their families as they transition through life’s changes.

About me

My name is Megan. I am a wife, mother to two young children, professional improvisor, and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I started my professional life working in theater performance, video and film production, and as a performance arts educator. I grew up in a health-conscious, family full of foodies with strong ties to our mixed heritage. I loved performing and working in the arts. However, something was missing. I was passionate about helping others work toward their dreams but also food, nutrition, and cooking. I felt called to combine the two! I took a huge chance on myself, sought higher education, and changed career paths.

Owning a private practice where I have the freedom to help others in the exact ways they need and not just the ways prescribed by a medical institution quickly became a dream of mine. I’ve found my niche as a nutrition counselor working in women’s health and family nutrition. I love watching my clients grow and achieve their goals. It is among the most rewarding and motivating work I have done. I utilize a non-diet approach focussing on mindfulness and intuitive eating so my clients may attain sustainable balance without the constraints associated with counting calories. I want all of my clients to enjoy eating and know the best kinds of food to eat to improve their overall quality of life.

With a background in comedy and performance, I think it is best to embrace the truly life-altering changes women face with honesty and a little laughter. Let's start your journey toward better health.
